License & Usage
This Godot game template can be used for personal and commercial projects. You are free to modify and include it in your projects, but you cannot resell or redistribute the template itself in any form. For more details, see the included LICENSE.txt file.
Why Godot 3.6?
While Godot 4.0 brings new capabilities, this project began in Godot 3.4 before the release of 4.0. Transitioning to a new engine version is not straightforward, but future updates will aim to port the project while enhancing its existing features.
Why Create Free Games?
Free games have the potential to reach a wider audience, allowing you to collect valuable feedback and improve your skills. While paid games can generate revenue, they require significant quality to sustain sales. For beginners, releasing free games is a more effective way to get exposure, gather constructive feedback, and build a player base.
Is Microtransaction-Based Monetization Better Than Paid Games?
Paid games can generate one-time revenue, but microtransactions offer the opportunity for long-term income by allowing players to purchase in-game items such as cosmetics. This model requires less time investment compared to producing DLCs or sequels and can be a more sustainable monetization strategy.
Art and Credits:
The art assets included in this template are created by talented artists. Be sure to check out their work in the game’s Credits section.
